This Earth Day marks just over 3 years of partnership between Norte and Trees for the Future (TREES) and more than 15,770 trees planted. Through this partnership, Norte, TREES, and our followers have not only helped heal the environment but have helped provide indigenous seeds and nursery materials, sustainable foundations for crop generation through further farming education and soil enrichment, and helped bring fresh produce into the lives of many who need it the most. Your gear arrives in a compostable satchel which you can take straight to your compost bin or worm farm. All tags, cards and tape are recycled, recyclable and/or biodegradable. Norte offsets the carbon emissions from the production and shipping of your gear through tree planting. Every product sold = 5 trees planted through the Forest Garden Program at Trees for the Future. Life on the farm with the kombi life crew is not just a lifestyle but a way of living. And what a way of living it is! Living off the land, not only with the crops we grow, the sheep we raise, but eating from the comfort of our own backyard. When planning our garden, the first goal was to plant a garden we could eat from. Our youngest son also hatched a plan with his grandfather, to raise some chickens on the property and he now runs a little business selling eggs. We never have to roam far...
Here at Norte, we've just come off a summer break which was equal parts 'rancho relaxo' and equal parts hectic. And we loved every minute of it!! Amidst the bbq's, daily swims, surfs, skates and long drives all over the joint, January is also one our most active periods. We're looking after folks that need summer gear, rashies, tees and sun hats whilst behind the scenes we've been putting the final touches on some BIG!... did we mention BIG! plans for the year ahead.
